The world’s highest drivable highway connecting Manali to Leh in Ladakh, Kashmir.
Khardung La is 5,602 m (18,379 ft) high and is the world's highest motorable pass. Tanglang La is 5,328 m (17,480 ft) high and is the world's second highest motorable pass. The average elevation of Leh-Manali highway is more than 4,000 m (13,000 feet) and including Baralacha La 4,892 m (16,050 ft), Lachulung La 5,059 m (16,598 ft) and Taglang La 5,328 m (17,480 ft).

The total length of the highway is 490 km (300 mi).[3] The distance in Himachal Pradesh state between Manali and Sarchu is 230 km (140 mi) and the distance in Ladakh region from Sarchu to Leh is 260 km (160 mi).

It is flanked by mountain ranges on both sides featuring some stunning sand and rock natural formations.
